आत्माज्ञानादहो प्रीतिर्विषयभ्रमगोचरे, शुक्तेरज्ञानतो लोभो यथा रजतविभ्रमे। ॥2॥
ātmājñānād-aho prītir-viṣaya-bhrama-gocare, śukterajñānato lobho yathā rajata-vibhrame. (2)
This verse compares the mistake of thinking a seashell is silver to how people mistakenly become attached to the temporary pleasures of the world because they do not truly understand their own true nature. It highlights the idea that ignorance can lead us to value things that are not truly valuable.
