कर्तव्यदुःखमार्तण्डज्वालादग्धान्तरात्मनः, कुतः प्रशमपीयूषधारासारमृते सुखम्। ॥1॥
kartavya-duḥkha-mārtaṇḍa-jvālā-dagdhāntarātmanaḥ, kutaḥ praśama-pīyūṣa-dhārā-sāramṛte sukham. (1)
This verse suggests that true happiness cannot be found when one is burdened by the pain of their actions; instead, it can only be experienced through the constant flow of letting go of desires. In other words, to find joy, one must embrace a state of desirelessness.
