तज्ज्ञस्य पुण्यपापाभ्यां स्पर्शो ह्यन्तर्न जायते, न ह्याकाशस्य धूमेन दृश्यमानाऽपि सङ्गतिः। ॥3॥

tajjñasya puṇya-pāpābhyāṁ sparśo hyantarna jāyate, na hyākāśasya dhūmena dṛśyamānā'pi saṅgatiḥ. (3)

This verse means that a person who truly understands their true self remains unaffected by good or bad actions, similar to how space remains pure and untouched by smoke that may be present in it.
