अष्टावक्र उवाच यथातथोपदेशेन कृतार्थः सत्त्वबुद्धिमान्, आजीवमपि जिज्ञासुः परस्तत्र विमुह्यति। ॥3॥

aṣṭāvakra uvāca yathā-tathopadeśena kṛtārthaḥ sattva-buddhimān, ājīvam-api jijñāsuḥ parastatra vimuhyati. (3)

This verse suggests that a person with a clear and pure understanding can grasp the true nature of the Self even from simple teachings, while someone with a confused mind may struggle to understand it despite a lifetime of searching.
